Jesus' most important message was on the need to forgive. In the Lord's prayer, (Matthew 6) he asks God to forgive our sins, and says that if we don't forgive others, God won't forgive us. Staying in unforgiveness can send a person to Hell.
Several years ago I was raped by someone who was an off-duty undercover cop. He had been drinking and accosted me in a doorway. I preached to him and he stopped. Then he said he should get his gun and shoot himself. I said no God forgives you and so do I. I prayed for him, and he prayed for me. His repentance and prayer helped me forgive someone else that had raped me previously.
I ran into him weeks later and he told me that he had gone to his superiors and told them what he had done to me and they asked him "do you want us to kill her for you?" They were afraid I would go to the newspapers and it would embarass the police force. He said, "No leave her alone. I love her."
If I had not forgiven him I would have been a mark to be killed by the police. Forgiving him saved my life. Furthermore, I was not traumatized by the event. I stayed with some friends and played the piano, praising God and I was healed. Forgiveness releases healing.
On Unforgiveness and prison;
I spent time in solitary confinement in prison. All of the women in cells near me had forgiveness issues with someone that had abused them. By not forgiving, they were putting themselves in danger of going to hell; they had ended up in prison, which is a taste of hell, as a spiritual warning that unforgiveness can lead to hell. We have places on earth that are tastes of hell so we an believe there is such a real place. In prison there were no clocks - it felt like a timeless void - a real sense of eternity. I heard the other prisoners weeping and wailing, and God said to me "spirits in pain"
Bill Wiese, a Christian, wrote a book titled 23 Minutes in Hell - God took him there to make him a witness to it. He said he saw people in cells and he was in a cell with demons physically attacking him - and he saw people going in to the burning fire. God told him it was deep in the earth, and the scriptures say so as well, in the book of Ezekiel. (old testament)
The message of his book is that people need to accept Jesus as messiah to avoid hell. The end of his book has the scriptures from Ezekiel.
Jails, mental hospitals, wars and holocausts are all examples of hell let loose on earth so we have evidence that such a place exists. If there were no evidence of it, who would believe it? I believe that is one reason God allows these places to exist. I have heard angels singing in church, so I know there is a heaven, and I have been mentally tortured by demons in prison, so I know there is a hell.
By the way, the nazis behind the Holocaust were devil worshippers, so it is not surprising that they created Hell on earth for their victims.
On Heaven:
One time in church, I was praying with 2 people; all 3 of us heard singing. There was nobody else in the church, so it had to be angels.
I also felt angels touching my head with their wings, repeatedly, for 2 years as I worshipped in a church at nite, so I know angels are real. This is also evidence of heaven.
Corrie Ten Boom wrote a tract on forgiveness that tells the following story: she was a Christian who was in the concentration camps with the Jews, for hiding Jews, & had her sister killed by a nazi. Years later, she was preaching on forgiveness in a church, and the man walked in. She recognized him. She said at that moment, feelings of rage that she did not realize she had, came up. He came to her and said “madam I know you know who I am. I am a Christian now. Will you forgive me? And stuck out his hand. She says at the moment she did not want to shake it, but said to God “in obedience to You, I will. You provide the feeling” and as she took his hand, God poured His Holy Spirit out on them.
Forgiveness & Healing
Jesus healed people of all kinds of diseases & gave his followers authority to do it. He told his followers to heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils. Matthew 10:8
All diseases are caused by demonic spirits whose assignments are the names of those diseases. Jesus rebuked them and gave his followers authority to do it.
He healed people as a testimony that he was the savior. God heals today when we pray in Jesus name for the same purpose- as a testimony to Jesus.
Jesus said to forgive people so that our prayers are not hindered.
Often sickness is due to spiritual sin, and unforgiveness is SIN. Hence, a person needs to address that issue in order to receive mental or physical healing.
30 years ago I read in The journal of psychosomatic medicine about a ‘cance- personality’ – someone who had bitterness and unforgiveness.
It is always God’s will to heal us, when we repent of Sin.
We can ask God if there is anyone we need to forgive. He will tell us, in our thoughts, if there is someone.
God talks to everyone in our thoughts. Our conscience is God.
Jesus sent the Holy Spirit from Heaven to be on the earth, 2000 years ago, to be with us and in us. So Everyone on earth can hear from God.
All thoughts come from the spiritual realm. The word ‘inspiration’ means “a spirit goes into it”. The bible says there are 2 sources; wisdom from above and wisdom from below. James ch 3
